Today I was shocked by the BBC news saying that doing regular exercise is not better than dieting. Meaning you are better off dieting than exercising (this was my first impression when I saw the headlines).
What the study was saying is that you should take care of you diet before start doing regular exercise.
In the UK there is a large number of gym advertisements stating that you can eat whatever you want as long as you do regular exercise.
And the head of UK medicine is saying that this message is misleading. Eating junk food and doing exercise is not the way to lose weight or to be healthy.
Taking care of your diet is more important that just doing regular exercise. There are numerous health conditions cause by junk food such as: diabetes, high cholesterol, etc.
So after watching the full report I must say that I agree with this study. You must make sure that you eat healthy foods before you start doing regular exercise.
There are lots of health benefits of doing exercise daily and it does not mean that you can eat junk food every day just because you are burning those calories in a form of a workout.
You should eat at least 7 healthy greens a day and I have wrote an article about this, you can read here it is titled – Eat 7 Portions of Fruits and Veg a Day and Beat Cancer – studies at University College London say.
You should also drink at least 2 litres of water a day to stay hydrated, plus studies show that people who drink this much water a day are more likely to lose weight and stay healthy.
So there you have it! Dieting is better than regular exercise!
