I have been walking 1 hour or 4km on a motorized treadmill at 3% incline and I am burning 470 calories per session. I am doing 2 sessions of 1 hour each, totalling 8km a day or 940 calories.
Walking on a treadmill is not hard work but I do sweat a lot! I need 2 towels a day. Not to mention 2 stress free showers after each workout session. After a great shower I feel amazing!
Not everyone will burn 470 calories a session, this number varies from your current weight, height and age. There are great free mobile apps that let you calculate how many calories you have burned in an inclined treadmill. My favourite Android app from this is called “Treadmill Calculator”; and it has a feet icon.

There is no secret for weight loss all you need is dedication and be persistent. If you are able to do 2 sessions of 1 hour each for 6 days a week, you will lose 38kg in a year, which means 38kg less from your body fat! Below is the maths:
7700 calories burnt = 1kg
470 calories x 2 sessions = 940 calories burnt a day
940 calories x 6 days = 5640 calories burnt a week
5640 calories x 52 weeks = 293280 calories burnt a year
293280 calories / 7700 calories = 38 kg reduction in 1 year
As you can see by simply doing cardio exercise 2 hours a day at 4km speed and 3% incline you can lose 38kg a year! Or over 3kg a month.
So there you have it, proof that cardio exercise works! And it can regulate your blood pressure, cholesterol and burn calories.
